?雅思作文犯罪:
In many parts of the world, people who have violated the law are put into prison, which is a very effective way of preventing them committing more crimes. However, many experts believe that better education is probably an even more effective way of addressing the problem of crime. I would suggest that both prison and education are important and each plays a different role in crime control.
Prison is certainly a place where criminals can be made to understand what wrong they have done to other people and why what they have done before is not socially acceptable. In this way, these criminals will have a better chance to come back to normal life. On top of the remedial function, prison can serve as a deterrent for those with an inclination to crime. The likelihood of losing freedom in prison can most effectively stop them from doing harms to the society and other individuals.
Better education can also bring down the overall crime rate in any community, and it is the most desirable preventive measure against crime. To start with, education improves people’s moral standards which enable them to tell right from wrong so that they will build a robust inner wall against any antisocial behaviors. More importantly, people with better education are always able to find a satisfying career that will reward them with a decent life, and they will never think of committing any crime.
In conclusion, prison with its remedial and deterrent function and education with its preventive function are both needed in order to make this world a safer place for all of us to live in.

sent to a jail:
the world would be in great chaos and full of blood and violence. it is the best deterrent to crime. they will think twice before they commit a crime. the decline of crime has a direct correlation with the implementation of the practice. it serves a just reward for the heartless and merciless malefactors while a great spiritual comfort to the victim’s family. the abolition of the practice will send out a misleading message that anyone can kill and get away with it.

it is hard to guarantee that they have really repented of their crimes. if it turns out (结果发现) that they just pretend they repent and start anew and actually they commit crimes again, the loss and the damage to the victims will be irreparable. and also, if the police want the behaviour of the criminals to be under control, they have to spend money and time in supervising the criminals after they are set free. furthermore, once the criminals commit crimes again, it will take the police much trouble to catch them.
it is a great deterrence for many potential criminals. compared with the deprivation of freedom, letting the criminals do something else as punishment is too mild.

As everyone knows, the reality that criminals whom are set free from prison would commit again is a pressing problem confronting us in the contemporary society and exerts baneful impacts on the stability of the society. Thus, as far as I am concerned, it is of great importance for people to find out its causes and ascertain some possible solutions to address it.
There are several reasons for this phenomenon. Firstly, this situation can be attributable to the careless of the criminals’ families. When they are released from prison, what they received from their families are not tolerance and care, but blame and complaint. The sense of loneliness would put them into fire again. Furthermore, because of lacking of attention from their families, they have to stay with friends, but most of them, are also criminals. Most important, they would fell disappointed because no one want to offer them job opportunities. It is reported that a large proportion of employers do not believe those who commit before.
Given the seriousness of this problem, we have no alternative but to adopt some feasible and effective measures. From my point of view, the following ones are worth mentioning. To begin with, what we should do is give criminals a chance to start at their new life, especially for their families, care and understand are very essential to those who commit before. For another, it is government’s responsibility to set down and implement relevant laws to protect the criminals’ rights to seek a job.
From the above , there are multiple causes, both families and society, to explain the criminals would commit again. And only when these practices mentioned above are taken will we to witness a substantial decrease of crime rate.

Teenager delinquency is becoming an increasing concern. Some people claim that only lenient sentences can not curb the major crimes, therefore, their punishment should not be differentiated from the adults. However, I can not totally agree to this.
Those who support the same fixed sentence towards both youth and grown-ups argue that without harsh punishment, juveniles would not realize the serious after effect of their behaviour and leave the victims and their families suffering. Simply, the best solution is to treat them like the adult if the crimes they commit are every bit as heinous as adult.
However, adolescents do not have the same physical and mental condition as adult, so applying the same penalty is not reasonable for all situations. The causalities of high criminal rate of teenager rooted deeply in the social environment- family and media influences for example. As the young, some of them are naturally daring and knows no boundaries. If the media presents violent actions as cool, then young people may regard gangster as hero, gain sense of powerful and develop big ego by bullying others or commit severe crimes like robbery or a violent attacks as a result. To radically settle the problem, morals should be taught and the positive way to show off strength should be presented on TV more.
Another reason I think juvenile offenders should not be tried and punished as adult is that there is a chance for rehabilitation. However violent crimes they committed, with alternative ways of punishment or easier sentence, there is much greater possibility for them to reestablish the value, return to normal life and even shift gears to become leader of certain area. Compared with adult criminals, the young ones are more capable of learning from their mistakes. Once they understand the consequences of their behaviour and realize their desired goal of life, they rehabilitate much faster. Conversely, if they are punished the same way as adult, chances are that they become repeat criminals or serial offenders, since they are taught more criminal techniques and their identity of criminal is strengthened when captured in jail.
Although based on rule of justice, heinous acts should be punished regardless of the age, for sake of long term benefit, collaborative efforts of the whole society should be taken to save the juvenile offenders by every possible solution except for equivalent penalty as adult in many instances.
