In Egypt, archaeologists have found the remains of a preserved mummy that could be more than 4000 years old. The body is thought to be a queen called Seshestet. It was found in a recently-discovered pyramid in Saqqara, just south of the capital, Cairo. Experts think she ruled Egypt for 11 years – making her one of a small number of women pharaohs. It took 5 hours to lift the lid of a giant coffin ” class=”hjdict” word=”coffin ” target=_blank>coffin called a sarcophagus. It included a skull, legs, and other body parts wrapped in linen, as well as pottery and gold finger wrappings.
Next, imagine how cold it is in the north or south poles.
Well a Canadian team has just broken the record for walking to the South Pole, in temperatures as low as -40 celsius. They walked 1100 kilometres in just under 34 days. I reckon they were walking fast to keep warm!
