cellphone, which was presented as a gift by my mom in Spring Festival in 2008. It’s a Nokia N82 intelligent phone. Its main body color is sort of reflective silver, in which a 3.0 inches big screen is embedded. I love the big screen, it clearly shows the words that I inputted. In particular the phone specializes in taking photos, the designers fixed the back side of the phone with a 500 mega pixels camera and a flashlight, which was the best camera compared to all other Nokia phones that time, it even can replace my real DC to take photos. But my favorite function is the talking dictionary. It does help to study English a lot and occasionally it corrects my pronunciations as well. Due to its various amazing functions, I cannot leave it along, and which causes numerous problems, for example, if I don’t see my phone for half an hour, I would fell very stressful.
It is a shining red model car, which I assembled all by myself 4 years ago. It’s an Aston Martin luxurious sport car that symbolizes passion and enthusiasm. However, it is a little bit ashamed to mention this. Actually when I first began assembling it I didn’t read the instructions then I almost got crazy as I found I was unable to finish it just with my own imagination. After that I nearly quitted. While, my mom told me that not everything was going to be what you like it to be. “You are smart but sometimes you also need the supports, otherwise you won’t achieve what you want every time just by yourself”. These words deeply enlightened me, and then I restarted to make it with the description, which did help me a lot. After I completed it, I put it on my desk. As for now, every time I gaze to it, it reminds me of my mother’s teaching.

. What clothes do you usually like to wear
2. Do/did you wear the same clothes at school and at home
3. Will you change your clothes when you go home today
4. Did you have any special clothes to wear when you where a child
5. Did you like them
Well, actually I don’t have an instinct for fashion and my look says I’m a laid-back kind of guy. So I usually wear casual clothes. I’m most comfortable wearing jeans, a T-shirt and my flip-flops.
Oh, definitely not. I always wore the school uniforms which was a blue jacket with a white shirt. They were very simple and boring. So when I reached home, I intended to put on my favourite outfits.
Oh, yes. The formal clothes really make me nervous so after I go home later, I’ll take them off and change my sweatshirts.
Yes, when I was a child, I needed to wear a uniform at school from primary school all the way to the very last year of high school, which is an institution, so I believed my parents had to follow this tradition.
No, I really couldn’t stand the school uniform because the clothes were a bit too old-fashioned; in addition, sometimes I was reluctant to wear them because they were too large. I doubted why they couldn’t be a bit more trendy and colourful like the ones in other countries, like Japan and Australia.
Describe a person you know who dresses well/a person who is fashionable.
You should say:
who this person is
what kinds of clothes this person likes to wear
how you know this person
and explain why you think this person dresses well.
Let me tell you about one of my friends who is a photographic model, and she is really fond of wearing trendy outfits due to her job. I met her when I took part in a portraits photography activity several years ago and we got to know each other ever since then.
She is very tall and blender, so she is very attractive. Particularly she fancies the Chinese traditional Chi-pao which essentially is a one-piece dress. She has several different colour Chi-paos and always wears one of them to go out for different social activities or photographic model.
She looks very graceful and stunning when she wears Chi-pao. I guess it looks unique because of the fabric, I mean, the silk and the embroidery. Also, the bell-like sleeves and the slits on the sides all make it so different from regular dresses. It accentuates her figure because it’s pretty tight-fitting. Actually I guess that’s exactly why she looks so fashionable and is so eye-catching in the street.

参考回答观点
1. Formal and Informal dresses
Job interview
Business suit
At large, traditional companies, suits are still the standard. “There aren’t appropriate alternatives to a suit, and wearing one tells me you are seriously interested in the position. Your attire should reflect that you are disciplined and committed, so look polished.
However, in many creative or artistic fields―design, media, retail, technology―it can be a plus to step outside of the box: Try a sheath dress with a wide belt and a cardigan, or a pencil skirt with a blouse and a cropped jacket.
Other special occasions: wedding, parties, funeral, dinner party, business dinner, company party
2. Formal dress code Now and past
“Dress codes have most certainly relaxed over time”
Due to the rise of the “T-shirt and jeans” culture in the software industry, many people have started to question whether the age-old “suit and tie” dress code is even necessary for business wear.
A large majority of companies have embraced the business casual attire, they believe allowing some freedom of individual expression can have positive impacts on company culture and employee satisfaction.
Its important to encourage the uniqueness because it emboldens both confidence and creativity.
3. Importance of wearing uniforms
a. A sense of belonging
If the work force wears the same clothes to the work place then they share a feeling of commonness and belonging
b. A feeling of equality
Uniform brings every one to the same platform, no matter how rich or poor he or she is and thus inculcating a feeling of equality amongst those wearing the uniform.
c. Industry demands
There are certain service industries which are focused on the customer, like the department store, restaurants or hospitals. These industries demand that the workforce look more united and eager to serve the customer, so the role of the uniform becomes very important. When the workforce is wearing a pleasant uniform the customers approach them more confidently.
4. Clothing and its function
a. Dress and personality
Most people are pretty superficial and mentally lazy when they size others up. People make snap judgments about us from the clothes we wear. They draw conclusions about our personality from the way we look.
If you dont look all that great, people will attribute all kinds of negative traits to you. But clean up your look, and suddenly you dont seem so bad, and everyones more willing to give you a chance, even though youre the same person deep down.
b. Increase your self-confidence
When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you’re going to be more productive, energetic, and of course, more confident in everything you do.
c. Change the way others see you
Putting more thought into your appearance is one of the easiest ways to improve your social prospects and the way people see you.
d. When dressed with style and elegance, people around you will sense the confidence and treat you differently than someone who doesn’t have that rousing aura surrounding them.
